How to Apply

The International Au Pair Exchange (TIAPE) has an easy-to-follow application process that consists of three key steps: host family application, matching process, and preparation for au pair arrival. Additional information about TIAPE’s process is outlined below and in the host family application.

Step One: Submit Completed Host Family Application

Complete the host family application so we can better understand your childcare needs, family and lifestyle. Be sure to include the number of children in your family, information about each family member, your family’s personality, and any specific skills or experience you’d like your au pair to have. Once you’ve completed your application, you can access profiles of available au pairs.

Step Two: Participate in the Matching Process

Our team will review your application and match your requirements with our carefully selected skilled au pairs. We’ll provide you with our recommendations while also allowing you to select specific individuals from our pool of qualified au pairs. Once you’ve identified a particular au pair who meets your criteria, you’ll arrange a Skype interview and guide you through the interview process.

Step Three: Prepare for Au Pair’s Arrival

Once you’ve matched with your au pair, our team manages all the logistics including visa, flights, insurance, and support. One of our local representatives will contact you in order to arrange for an in-person interview, ensure your au pair’s room meets U.S. Department of State requirements, and answer any questions you might have about the program. Most au pairs arrive within 4-6 weeks from the time they are matched with a host family.
